About the Faculty of Pedagogy and Psychology

The Faculty of Pedagogy and Psychology currently holds the following chairs:

• The Chair of Methods of Preschool and Primary Education
• The Chair of General and Social Pedagogy 
• The Chair of Psychology of Education and Development 

Historical note.The Faculty of Pedagogy and Psychology was established in September, 1998. The present-day faculty is the result of amalgamation of two faculties (the faculty of pedagogy and methods of preschool and primary education and the faculty of preschool and primary education) that took place in 2000.

Teaching staff.  The teaching staff is represented by highly-qualified specialists: 7 doctors and professors of sciences, 32 candidates of sciences and associate professors, 6 senior teachers.   

Nowadays there is a research laboratory of social and psychological problems which functions at the faculty. The Head of the research laboratory, Snegirjova Tatiana Vladimirovna, is Candidate of Psychology, Associate Professor. There is also a student research laboratory “Health Saving Technologies”, which functions at the chair of General and Social Pedagogy. It is headed by Radionova Ludmila Vasilevna, Associate Professor.

Scientific Research.The faculty is carrying out many research programs in the following directions: programs of education quality improvement: monitoring and auditing; modern technologies of social pedagogical support of childhood; personality development in educational and family environment; moral and intellectual values development of children and teenagers in the process of multicultural education in multiethnic society.

Cooperation. The faculty closely cooperates with different educational institutions of the Russian Federation and Khanty-Mansyisk Autonomous District:Herzen State Pedagogical University, South Federal University, Krasnoyarsk State Pedagogical University named after V.P. Astaf'ev, Kirov Military Medical Academy, Leningrad State University named after Pushkin, Ural State Pedagogical University, Institution of Development of Regional Education. It also has well-established contacts with the University of Applied Sciences IAMK (Jyvaskyla, Finland).

Students Life.The faculty students have been winners of many district and All-Russian festivals, competitions, contests of personal grants and socially-significant students projects. The Center of Students Initiatives functions at the faculty. A great number of socially significant projects are carried out within the framework of the center (“My Initiative in Education”, “Childhood Rainbow”, “Assets School”). There is a pedagogical team “Hearts of the North” which was created at the faculty. The team members have been winners of many district and All-Russian festivals, competitions and contests. The faculty students have a chance to do practical training in health improvement camps of Bulgaria and Turkey.
