About the Faculty of Humanities 

Historical note. The Faculty of Humanities was established on September 1, 2003. The faculty was established on the basis of the Philological Faculty, the Faculty of History and the Faculty of foreign languages.   

Teaching staff. The teaching staff takes care of the study and research process. It is represented by highly-qualified specialists: 10 professors, 10 doctors of sciences, 32 associate professors, 38 candidates of sciences, 30 senior teachers, 5 assistants,1 honored worker of science of Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous District Education, Ugra, 4 honored workers of RF Higher Institutes of Education, 3 honored workers of Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous District Education, Ugra, 1 honored teacher of the Russian Federation.  

Cooperation. The Faculty of Humanities maintains a cooperative association with different educational institutions: Goethe Institute (Germany), Trinity College (Great Britain), Kustanay Pedagogical Institute (Kazakhstan), DAAD (German Academic Exchange Service), Institute of International Studies (Monterey, the USA), Gorlovsky Pedagogical Institute of Foreign Languages (Ukraine), University of Glasgow (Scotland). 

Students Life.  Many students manage to combine academic study with scientific research activity and students’ social life. Students of the Faculty of Humanities represent the university at scientific conferences and seminars in Moscow, St. Petersburg, Novosibirsk, Tyumen, Khanty-Mansiysk, Tobolsk, Smolensk, Ufa, etc. Some students are awarded governor grants of Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous District.  Every year the faculty students take part in international academic and research conferences in Moscow and Novosibirsk. The Faculty of Humanities is actively involved into extracurricular activities. For instance, youth students association “Memory and future” conduct basic research in forming a source base for creation “Talking Memory Book”. There is also Leisure and Culture Centre, Sport Club, Trade Union Students’ Organization, Press Centre, Students Affairs Management Council. The newspaper “Partner” is published at the faculty.
