One of the main goals of Careers Guidance Work is to promote the educational services of the university, to attract more applicants who will be interested in the specializations and professional training offered by the university.

The Department of Careers Guidance Work and the Postgraduate Employment Assistance Department are in charge for organization of advertising and informational campaigns in mass media.

The Careers and Education Guidance Work Department organizes events, aimed at promotion of the university among senior school students. For instance, the campaigns “The Applicant” and “Doors Open Day” which take place in Nizhnevartovsk, Megion, Pokachi, Raduzhnii, Langepas.

Besides, there are also other types of professional orientation work with probable applicants: presentation of the university in schools during classes, parents’ meetings and the university excursions for senior school students. The university teachers attract school students to attend the university lessons. These are the lessons which are taught in schools for pre-specialized education and training (the total number of school seniors is around 200 people every year).

The university testing center offers computer pre-specialized testing using the methods of Moscow State University “Proforientator” and “Profconsultant” as well as psychological testing.

The university offers pre-entry courses, which help the applicants to prepare for the entry exams. About 200 applicants take these courses every year.

The university also organizes a wide range of events to promote the demand of postgraduates on labor market. The final-year students are offered information on current and new vacant positions at the end of every academic year. Besides, the Department of Postgraduate Employment Assistance annually organizes a “Job Fair” with the representatives of 15-20 the enterprise employees taking part in it.

The Department of Postgraduate Employment Assistance provides a special educative seminar course for the final-year students. The program of the seminars includes the following fields: legal framework of employment relations in RF, local labor market situation, CV writing, job interview training, computer proforient testing using the methods of Moscow State University “Profcareer” and psychological consultation. The seminars are led by the members of the department of Postgraduate Employment Assistance with assistance of specialists of  Nizhnevartovsk Employment Center.

The club of the university postgraduates was founded in 2009.
