About the Faculty of Arts and Design

Historical note.  The Faculty of Arts and Design was founded in 1991. 

Teaching staff. The teaching staff takes care of the study and research process. It includes 6 members of Union of Designers of Russia, 5 members of the Union of Russian Artists, 2 Honored Artists of Russia.

Scientific Research. The faculty is actively involved into scientific research. Research areas: fine and applied arts and new ways of development its methods of teaching; regional component in fine and applied arts.

Cooperation. The Faculty of Arts and Design successfully continues its partnership with Kazakh Academy of Pedagogical Education. The faculty members take active part in academic and research seminars and conferences. They participate in exchange of international exhibitions of Rumania, Italy, Poland, Belgium and Hungary. The faculty is actively involved in the social life of university. It co-operates with the Local History Museum, Art Gallery “August’’, Nizhnevartovsk Central library and the Department of Culture of Nizhnevartovsk.   A truly remarkable event in life of Nizhnevartovsk is decoration of town with sculptures made of snow and ice in advance of New Year holidays and the faculty members are actively involved in it. Practical and museum training, art and construction training, plain airs usually take place in Ekateringburg, Tobolsk, Omsk and Essentuki. The faculty teaching staff and students represent their creative works at the art exhibitions of regional and All-Russian level. 

Students Life. Students Fashion Theatre “NILE” has been functioning at the faculty since 1993.  It already got the status of an independent creative union. The faculty students have the opportunity to take part in different competitions and exhibitions, where they can show their worth and creative potential.  The faculty has already achieved great results in creative work of students and the teaching staff. The faculty has won many awards of district, regional and republican competitions. In a short period of time, the faculty have received professional qualifications for the fine and applied arts. The faculty’s graduates can work in different spheres: teaching, typographical art. They can work in design project organizations (facade, interior, landscape design), museums, exhibit halls and art studios. They offer qualified services in producing handmade souvenirs in special art studios. The faculty’s graduates are highly qualified specialists who are in great demand on Nizhnevartovsk and the Nizhnevartovsk region labor market.
