About the Library

Historical Note. The Library of Nizhnevartovsk State University of Humanities was founded together with the university, in 1988. Initially the fund of the library contained about 16, 000 items. The main goal of the Library is to provide excellent service to students and university staff that will advance each user’s learning, teaching, and research experience at Nizhnevartovsk State University of Humanities. NSUH Library strives to support library users anytime and anywhere. It manages the collections and technologies and provides strong and innovative services. Every year the library subdivisions provide services for more than 10,000 people.  The total number of the library visitors is 176,350 people. Every year there are 420,900 book loans.

Our Mission

The mission of NSUH Library is to inform the university and wider community of learners through educational resources, technologies and expertise and to connect people with our resources and services. University Library actively partners in the transformation of information to new and more accessible formats.

Our Collection  

Current holdings within the library at NSUH include over 250, 000 volumes including educational, scientific and imaginative literature, periodicals (national and foreign magazine and newspaper editions) as well as scholar works of the university teaching staff. Services are available to university students, faculty and staff, as well as individual citizens, businesses, professional firms, and public agencies. There is a special MBA department which serves to put hold on books on a loan basis of libraries of Yekateringburg, Tyumen, Novosibirsk, Moscow, St. Petersburg and other cities of Russia. It also serves to provide electronic documents delivery. The reference and search aids also functions at the library in a hard-copy form and electronic format. It’s the system of catalogues and cards: alphabetic and classified-systematical catalogues, systematic card-catalogue, course work aid catalogue, catalogue of scholar works of the university teaching staff, dissertation catalogue, etc.

Our Facilities

There are  automatic work places with Internet access organized for the library members. The university postgraduates are provided access to the dissertation database of the ETD RSL (Electronic Thesis and Dissertations of the Russian State Library).  All the library visitors are also allowed access to the database of “East View”, “Russian Central Press”, “Science Online” as well as database of “Scientific Electronic Library”.
