Research Department
The Research Department was founded in September, 2006.
Scientific work of the university is being carried out in two directions: the solution of modern problems of education and fundamental 
science. Within the first direction scientists of the university develop new methods of training, implement alternative educational systems, examine pedagogical and educational innovations. The main task of the second research area is to receive new scientific results in fundamental science and to analyze the sphere of its application. An integral part of the research activities of the university is formation of the qualified experts, updating of the subjects content, the support of the research work of doctoral candidates, post-graduate students and students. The teaching stuff of the university cooperates with the leading Russian and foreign educational institutions and research institutes.
Since 2000 the scientists of the university have been participating in the implementation of the regional target program «The National Project «Education» in Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous District – Ugra». For the last 5 years about 250 research works have been executed and more than 80 monographs have been published. In 2008 the university won a series of district contests of the following programs: «Development of the university centers of inter-regional development on the basis of operating high schools, modernization of professional education to meet the autonomous region needs in the highly professional staff», «Science integration and education integration», «Development of the scientific potential of professional education system in the autonomous region », etc.
Scientists of the university set out the results of the scientific research at the scientific and research and practice conferences held both at the university and in other higher educational institutions, research institutes and research organizations. Teachers, employees and post-graduate students of the university repeatedly participated in the various international congresses, conferences, symposiums, contributing to the world science development.
In 2008 the university has organized and has held the international scientifically-practical seminar «Problems of preparation of translators» nonprofit non-state educational establishment CET-NV Great Britain, СЕТ, the USA, Monterey, Graduate School of Translation and Interpretation) with participation of foreign experts – translation teachers; a scientifically-practical course « The Theory and practice of the professionally oriented translation » with the employees and teachers of Pyatigorsk State Linguistic University. There has been established cooperation with the Republican state public enterprise « Institute of Philosophy and Political Sciences » of the Committee of Science of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Under program TEMPUS there has also been established cooperation with the Gorlovka State Pedagogical Institute of Foreign Languages(Ukraine). In 2007-2009 7 teachers and 6 students of the university undertook an internship in Finland and Sweden. A post-graduate student of the university completed her training and became the participant of the international seminar (Alaska, the USA).
